TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS SCENERY

Back in the mid-1950's, the original Park Superintendent, Paul Stover, his wife Vera and their family, created a outdoor Chrismtas scenes for a community Christmas Decorating contest, after winning 3 years in a row, they quit entering the contest, however the tradition had begun.

The display has grown to completly circle the one-third mile drive that goes around the Foundation Park House, located at 600 North Pleasant Ave. The display begins Thanksgiving Day and continues thru January 1st.

Foundation Park House Built in 1856, the Robnett home. sitting atop Robnett Hill (more commonly known as Stover's Hill), is located in the Robnett portion of the park. "Where's Wanda?" Guests to the Christmas displays have come to look forward to playing Hide and Seek with twin Christmas Elves "Rhonda and Wanda". "Wanda" hides within the scenery, and guests have to find her, she usually moves at least once a week, so come back to play again and again. The Leg Lamp The leg-lamp, made popular in the movie "The Christmas Story" is a favorite for many. ..."FRA-GEE-LEY - It's an amazing award!"
The Nativity The Nativity, along with the 40' tall star in the background, are part of the original Christmas scenes created by Paul and Vera Stover, over 60 years ago.	Santa's Workshop This scenery is part of the original pieces created circa 1950's, by Park Superintendent Paul Stover, wife Vera and family.
